We have joined forces with Europe’s largest fitness race HYROX, becoming the Official training centre for HYROX in Qatar.

The SQD5 training system is the perfect program to get you race ready. In addition to our existing progressive, science-based training programs, we have added HYROX-specific training programs to our weekly schedule. You’ll get the best possible preparation for your HYROX event, amongst our unrivalled communities.

Classes focus on building capacity and ability to perform with compromised legs. Classes are progressive and designed to help you peak at just the right time.

HYROX is a global fitness race that combines running and functional workout stations. The race consists of eight rounds, with each round including a 1 km run followed by a different functional exercise. The functional exercises include:
SkiErg, Sled push, Sled pull, Burpee broad jumps, Rowing, Farmers carry, Sandbag lunges, and Wall balls.

HYROX has four different categories:
Open: A challenging but achievable race for everyone
Pro: Heavier weights for more experienced racers
Doubles: Run together but split the workload
Relay: Race as a team of two, with each member doing two 1 km runs and two workouts

What is the difference between HYROX and CrossFit?

Hyrox exercises have been selected as they are fairly safe and simple to perform, which allows the race to be accessible to the average gym goer. CrossFit workouts typically involve more complex and advanced movements that take lots of practice to master technique.

Benefits of Hyrox?

The demands of the race require good cardiovascular endurance as well as being strong and somewhat mobile, so it’s effective at building well-rounded fitness without high-risk or high-skill movements.

Is HYROX safer than CrossFit?

Exercises in HYROX are generally less technical and complex than are sometimes featured in CrossFit, making them safer and simpler to perform and HYROX as a sport more accessible to a wider range of fitness abilities. There are no time limits and no qualification required.

How many times a week should I run for HYROX?

Two to three runs, consisting of one long run – over the course of your training block, gradually build up to a long run. Ideally this should be for the amount of time you think it’s going to take you to complete the Hyrox course on the day (so around 90 minutes).
